Jonathan Taylor Thomas stars as Jake, a shallow huckster attending college in Los Angeles who finds troubles aplenty and, eventually, redemption on a road trip home in this youth-oriented Christmas vehicle. The action begins with Jake dumped in the desert dressed in full Kris Kringle regalia as payback for a scheme gone wrong, making Taylor Thomas the second Home Improvement cast member to don a Santa suit for film. (The first, of course, was his TV dad Tim Allen in The Santa Clause, for those of you who snoozed through recent Christmases.) With Jake stuck in the dunes, his stranded girlfriend (Jessica Biel from TV’s Seventh Heaven) accepts a ride from his rival and thus begin the cross-country shenanigans that lead to a Christmas sleigh ride in their shared New York hometown. Corporate Christmas Gifts

Corporate Christmas Gifts were once only exchanged between companies thanking one another for their business. Today, Corporate Christmas Gifts are used by companies looking to improve employee moral. Generally, Corporate Christmas Gifts can take on a couple of forms. First, there is the annual Company to employee gift, where each and every employee receives a Christmas gift. This type of corporate gift can take many different forms, including movie tickets, clothing with company logo, or an assortment of corporate merchandising. The second form of corporate gifts, and arguably the most fun, are the office or inter-office exchanges in which employees give each other a gift. The preferred method of employee to employee gift is called the Kris Kringle or Secret Santa, and generally the way it works is that every employee who is participating in employee gift exchanges, has their name written on a piece of paper and put in a hat. Then, every employee that is participating in the Kris Kringle/Secret Santa, pulls out a name from the hat. Whichever name you pull out, it is your responsibility to purchase a present for that respective individual. Kris Kringles / Secret Santas are popular because it allows people to maintain anonymity as well as prevent the feared office-buying wars in which employees attempt to outdo each other in order to either save face or gain favors. Since the Kris Kringle/Secret Santa is an anonymous affair, present are generally kept to a small amount. In order to keep the occasion civil, many managers and employers will insist that presents be kept under a certain amount, like $20.00 for example. In this way, people aren’t felt obligated to spend a lot of money for someone who they may not get along with.

The fun part of a Kris Kringle / Secret Santa gift exchange is that employees can have a little fun, but the key is not to purchase something that may be deemed offensive. Generally, refraining from purchasing offensive gifts should go without saying, but managers may opt to keep a list of every gift exchange in order to keep people in the Christmas and not Grinch mood.

Corporate Christmas Gifts are great fun and a time of year that employees can do something for one another. It elevates team moral and generally creates a mood of giving. A Corporate Christmas Gift exchange can and should be complimented with a pot luck lunch or breakfast, so that everyone can get in the mood. Why not bring party hats and balloons, streamers and noise-makers, it’s all good fun, and with some good ole Christmas music playing in the background, great fun will be had by all.
